Retention Policy

1. INTRODUCTION

In order to provide required services to customers, Hertz Accident Support (HAS) needs to gather and use Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about individuals. This includes any individual the organisation may interact with.
This policy describes how personal data is stored and deleted to meet the company’s data retention standards.

2. CUSTOMER DATA POLICY AND PROCEDURE

Throughout the life of a claim, customer PII is collected and processed in line with the HAS Privacy Policy. HAS will need to keep information once the claim has closed for purposes connected with business analysis and/or legal obligations. For example:

• Accounting
• As required by HMRC
• Criminal prosecution
• Recovery of assets or losses suffered by HAS.

The information held will be for our management and administrative use only, but from time to time, we may need to disclose some information we hold about customers to relevant third parties.

Precise time periods for retention of data are detailed in the retention schedule.
